Pastor David N. Wentz
Pastor David Wentz has twenty-seven years experience pastoring six United
Methodist churches in the Baltimore-Washington region. His passion is
helping people find new ways to connect with God, and then watching them
discover new talents and abilities that bring them fulfillment and joy. He
believes every Christian has the ability and the responsibility to hear from
God. His job, therefore, is not to tell people what to do, but to encourage
them to listen to God and do what God is saying.
Pastor David has been married to Paula since Dec. 28, 1974. They have five
children and five grandchildren (so far). He loves to lead worship with his
guitar (and sneak in his sax and flute whenever he can), but he also
appreciates good old traditional worship. He also loves backpacking and
kayaking.
Pastor David graduated from Severna Park High School in 1972 and the
University of Virginia School of Engineering in 1976. After two years at
Ford Motor Company's Research and Development Center, he felt called to the
ministry and entered seminary. He has accumulated Masters of Divinity
degrees from Melodyland School of Theology and Wesley Theological Seminary,
and a Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary. He served
churches in Mt. Airy, Accokeek, Pasadena and Mitchellville before coming to
Trinity in 2007.
